Cheddar Jalapeño Burgers with a Mexican Twist

Going to try these tonight!
- 1 lb ground beef 85% lean or less. You want the FAT, people!
- 1/2 cup cheddar cheese shredded
- 1/4 cup jalapeños
- 3 tsp chili powder
- 2 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp onion powder
- 1 tsp garlic powder
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
- 16 leaves bibb or butter lettuce
- 4 slices tomato
- 1 large avocado or 2 small
- Combine the first 9 ingredients with your hands and form into 4 equal patties.
- Heat grill to high heat and place patties over direct flame to sear the outside. Close the lid.
- Flip burgers once the bottom is seared to sear the other side. Keep lid closed.
- Once the other side is seared, turn down the heat to low. Flip burgers once again.
- Keep the lid closed and cook to desired doneness. Remove to a plate.
- Place 2 lettuce leaves on a plate, place burger patty on top. Add tomato slice and a few avocado slices. Add condiments of your choice (like avocado mayonnaise - yum!) Then top with remaining lettuce and enjoy!
