Don’t be scared of eating/drinking on vacation! I gained 10lbs on mine but not even a week later I lost almost all of it!

29F 5’9” HW:191 CW 148.2 GW?

I went to New Orleans for a bachelorette party for 4 days. We drank constantly (literally) and ate a lot of good food. At first, like many people here I had some anxiety about this trip and the effect it may have on my weight loss. I counted calories the morning of the first day and then quickly realized I did not want to do that all vacation. I wanted to let loose and get drunk with my old college buddies.

Before I left for the trip I was 148lbs. When I got home I weighed myself the next day to see the scale at 157.8lbs, a gain of 9.6lbs! I weigh myself fairly regularly and I have never seen a fluctuation like that before. I was sure some of it would come off as water weight/bloat/whatever you want to call it but I thought I would be left with some damage. 6 days later I weighed myself and I came in at 148.2! Almost back to pre trip weight.

So yeah, please don’t be scared. The key I think is to get back into your groove when you get back home. Consistency is key! I had a blast on the trip and wouldn’t trade it for the world.
