My biggest achievement since losing 78 pounds (270 to 185 lbs, started 2018 at 242 pounds)

Back in high school when it was time for the mile run, my 270 pound ass could barely run about 1/3 of a single lap around the track before stopping, id walk the rest of the mile.

Since then, I have gone down from 270 pounds to now 185. I have literally not run once in years, I have only hiked, dieted and some light weightlifting to lose all the weight.

Now earlier I tried running for the first time in years and I was able to run 1/2 a mile without stopping, my biggest personal achievement since trying to lose weight. I had to stop mainly because I was winded, my legs were sore but not too bad, so hopefully with consistent runs my lungs can catch up to my legs. (I also noticed my esophagus was hurting bad and I was coughing a lot after I stopped running, I think it’s from smoking e-cigs a lot so I am going to stop that).

If you are trying to lose weight, trust me you can do it. The biggest key is consistency, even if you ‘fail’ by going back to old habits, just keep on going at it. Eventually your bound to be able to stay on track better than before. When I first started trying to lose weight, I felt like it was impossible cause I never lost any significant amount weight my entire life. As soon as I pushed myself as hard as I possibly could and lost my first 5 pounds, that mental block I had that ‘losing weight was impossible’ was gone and I just kept on going at it.

At times i’d be slipping and gaining some weight back and i’d be pissed at myself, but then i’d take that anger I had and used it as motivation to keep going. Everytime i’d have a bad craving, i’d just think about how I felt when I last gave into my craving and it really helped me stop.

Good luck everyone else trying to lose weight, you got this.
