Figuring out what’s right for me

Hello, I’m a first time poster here, I am feeling overwhelmed and discouraged today. My starting weight was (F) 230 at 5”3 in January. When I had my first heart palpitation, I decided a change was needed. After a few failed week long cheating, or falling off the wagon for a couple days-weeks I’m here now at 214. However I’m stuck here. For the past 3 weeks I’ve been eating around 1000 calories per day at most as normally I never have time for lunch at work so I usually eat a light breakfast, and dinner is a lean protein and vegetable. I have also just started running a mile a day since Monday. I have been stuck at 214 for about a week and it is really discouraging me that nothing is happening as I am trying so hard and exercising and it feels as it’s all for nothing and I am never going to get where I want. I have done a ton of research and could never really find a solid answer about calorie deficit and if “starvation mode” is a real thing. I always thought if you expel more calories than you are in taking, you are going to lose weight-it’s science right? I saw some people talking about how they run and one mile only burns 100 calories, and my steps from work calculate to about 600 calories burned so how do you lose weight if you’re eating more calories than your burning every day? So I was trying to stay under 1000 calories. I then was seeing things about going into starvation mode and that your body will hold on to the fat longer, is that true? I also read that was a myth. All in all I just need some help figuring out if I’m doing something wrong, because this discouragement is giving me some disordered eating tendencies and I’m very scared to go down that road.
