"The only thing better than the food you eat, is the food that you don't"
My grandma used to say this and oh boy was she right...
We have all been there before. We put a huge portion on our plate out of habit, or get something big in a restaurant and then force ourselves to eat the entire thing. Don't want to waste food, right?
The thing to realize is that some of the food is already "wasted" the moment it ended up on our plate. We don't *need* it to survive or be healthy so actually leaving it there is a better choice, even if it ends up in the trash instead of our bellies.
I am not advocating for wasting food, don't get me wrong. But saying this to yourself can help you get down to smaller portions over time. Just because it's on your plate already, doesn't mean that you have to eat it.
