5 weeks to focus: how to best go about it?

Hello!

So, because of some circumstances with work, I’ve been left with the next five weeks pretty much free of responsibilities. I’d really like to use the time to really get into the swing of things, and dedicate it to losing as much of a chunk of weight as I can before I get back to work again.

The main part of weight loss that I struggle with currently is food — keeping to my calorie count, avoiding cravings, that kind of thing — and I’m a little worried that this won’t go too well if I’m at home and not busy for a good chunk of the time. I’d really appreciate any advice on how to manage that.

I’m planning on upping my activity as much as I can — getting more consistent with Couch to 5K, getting out on some walking trails, maybe making a start with some yoga or other light strength workouts. It’ll be a weird jump, since I’m used to working retail and being on my feet eight hours a day, but I’m hoping I can maximise the amount of intentional exercise I’m getting done day to day.

I guess I’m just looking for some tips on how to approach this kind of thing, since it’s not a situation I’ve found myself in before. I’m all about slow and steady and sustainable weight loss (hell, it’s taken me a good while to get 25lbs down), but these next few weeks feel like a good opportunity to really kick start some more progress.

Should I be structuring and planning my weeks around exercise? Getting more ‘on it’ with macros (I don’t really like tracking besides calories and protein, and I’m not sure if that would make much difference)? Are there any kinds of exercise that might be good to take up? How do I deal with eating out of boredom whilst I’ve got nothing else on? Any other advice?

Thanks!
