How closely should I track my calories?
I have a history of binge eating and depriving myself of my favorite foods. I thought that downloading myfitnesspal would be a good idea to counter this because it would help me keep track of what I am eating and allow me to still sneak in the foods that I like to eat. My question is, how closely should I track my calories? Should I track EVERYTHING I eat? The reason I ask this is because counting calories is not always easy. Sometimes I may go outside to get food and the food I buy does not have nutrition facts labeled on it. Other times I scan the bar code of foods that I intend to eat and no data on the food comes up so I do not know how many calories are in it. I feel like there is no way I can track the calories of literally every single thing I eat. I do not want calorie counting to be a stressful experience. What do you all do when you come across a meal that you cannot track? How do I prevent overthinking when it comes to counting calories?
