It really was water weight!
So my start weight was 191. For a while I had been weighing in at 173-174. Then one day I weighed 177 and then 178.2 the next. I didn't freak out at first because I knew about water weight fluctuations even though I don't remember eating anything that would have spiked water retention. But then I kept weighing 178...
After about a week I started to think that this might actually be real weight gain as it seemed most people lose water weight in 2-3 days. I had been counting calories the whole time but I had increased my calorie intake to about 200 the past week or two. But I figured this should only be a pound of weight gain not 4 or 5! I even was going to post a question here asking how long water weight can last, but the automod deleted it for being too short :(
Anyway finally yesterday - a full week and a half after that sudden weight gain, I was suddenly down 5 lbs to 173! And I was still 178 the day before. So a full 5 lbs overnight, after a week and half. So I just wanted to let other people know that it sure can take a while to lose water weight.
