Share your story: what medical interventions (physical, mental, etc.) helped you loseit and again a healthier life?

I see people deep in comments talking about how addressing other health conditions helped them lose weight, but haven’t seen any posts on the matter. I think it’s important for people to know it’s okay to get help. Being healthy with help is just as valid as being healthy on your own. Many people here have received help and are better for it.

I know I tried soo many times to drop into the healthy range with no success. It started feeling impossible. I wasn’t doing fad diets or the newest workouts. I was working on CICO and walking. It should’ve worked but I just could stick to it.

But what had happened was I stopped treating PTSD and ADHD, and my weight crept up and up. I didn’t even realize I stopped addressing those things; they just petered out.

It got to the point I was eating to comfort myself from disturbing and intrusive thoughts, as well as compulsively eating. I could be uncomfortably full and it could be gross multi-day old food on the counter but if I saw I’d would eat it.

My relationship with food was absolutely not healthy, and my mental health wasn’t okay.

When I went back to the doctor and started medication again and started therapy I was finally equipped to loseit and I did!!! I’m 28F SW:168 GW:130 CW:128!!!!

Years of no success finally ended when I addressed my other health concerns that were getting in my way.
