Lost 90 pounds in 9 months
Hello reddit. Im a 28 year old male, 5"8 and I started at 302 pounds in late April 2021. Today I'm 212 pounds and I'm going to tell you how I got here, hopefully this can help those who are struggling.
It wasn't easy, I'm not going to lie. I did this all by myself, counting calories and preparing my own food without any professional guidance.
My family didn't help, my father even discouraged me. first 3 months all he said to me was that he is seeing no difference and that im still fat.
I have been single for the past 3 years because here no one wants a fat man. I have started to garner attention now but honestly im put off from dating, people are so superficial and I don't believe im ready for dating just yet.
In my mind I have a set goal, 180 pounds. I will not stop or relax until I get there. I am much better than I've been but I'm still not there yet, hopefully by 1 year (next April) I will be there.
it was extra hard for me because i dont have much friends, i have no job either. So food was always within reach. I lost my job due the pandemic and friends I never was the outgoing type but im working on it :)
But what motivated me most is the condition I have. HS (Hidratanitis Supporativa) skin disease. Its prevalent in obese smokers. First thing I did was stop smoking and started vaping.
It improved a lot but still get that painful boil every once in a while.
Regarding exercise, I have a stationary bike in my room and I do 30 minutes, 2-3 times a week. That's it.
The rest of the weight loss was all done through diet changes.
I eat mainly salmon, white fish, zucchini and broccoli, plain pizza (half, 150g at most), chicken breast, pork tenderloin, penne pasta (limit to once a week only) and everything must be weighed in grams.
I don't do cheat days but last December I had a 3 week long diet break, gained 2 pounds but lost it and more since then.
Any questions please ask :)
