48-Hour Dry Fast

I haven’t posted on this blog in a while… Been a bit busy and I’ve lost some motivation in my keto journey – and so the first thing I did was go back to bad habits, knowing I’d regret it all (which I do) but I’ve decided that I’ve had enough pity-party cake. It’s time to take some action… and so while I figure things out I decided to give my body a break.

I’m 38+ hours into this dry fast (not completely dry seeing that I’m still brushing my teeth and taking a bath) – not drinking or eating. The plan is to complete 48 hours, which I’ve almost completed and then take it from there. One thing I’m sure of in all this confusion is that a ketogenic lifestyle is my best bet and I need to find ways to make it more convenient, easier and a full part of my life (without compromise).

I’ve been trying to track back and to find out where I went wrong or where I lost traction and it’s not surprising to find the following:

  • I’ve been depending too much on take out even though I know there’s a lot of non-keto ingredients in those seemingly keto foods
  • I’ve gotten myself addicted to a different kind of sugar (sweeteners) which has led me back to using regular table sugar – sure it was once or twice in coffee but I never thought I’d get back there

Anyway, there’s a lot more discoveries but it’d take all day and no one has time to read a long post :-)

I’ll see how the 48 hour dry fast goes and if I’m still feeling like going forward I’ll have water after completing the 48 hours. So I may do a 24 hour wet fast while I’m busy getting my kitchen stocked and upgraded to accommodate my keto lifestyle fully!

Until next time <3
