I “cheated” and managed not screw up my progress

On Saturday, I posted about desperately wanting a burger and a shake and asked everyone what their opinions were on cheat days. Some people thought cheat days were perfectly fine in moderation, others didn't personally partake in them but understood if others mentally benefited from them, and other's advised against taking a cheat day. Someone even warned that I may manage to screw up my whole week's progress by giving in and having a burger and shake.

I weighed my options carefully. I certainly didn't want to reverse any positive change, but I also needed a day to relax mentally. I was PMSing like a fiend and all I could think about was a fat, juicy burger and cold, thick vanilla milkshake. I did the math to find out my deficit. My TDEE my weight was 1,982 and I was eating at a limit of 1,200. That puts me at a daily deficit of 782, so by that day I was looking at a overall deficit of 4,692. So I decided to have the damn burger and shake. I enjoyed every bite and every sip, and honestly wasn't even able to finish either of them, but I was physically and mentally satisfied. I crossed my fingers and hoped that the scale wouldn't read 7 pounds heavier the next morning.

Sunday came along, and I weighed in at 208.6, which was the same weight as the morning before. Yesterday, I was at 207.2, and today I'm at 206.6. Two and a half days after my "cheat" and I think it's safe to say I didn't manage to blow all my hard work. I maintained for a day, and then managed to drop 2 pounds. I don't know if I just got lucky or if it's merely science doing it's work, but either way, I'm ecstatic!
