Progress Pix: 5' 5" female, 160lbs to 120lbs.
I was digging through my post history on another forum and found some 'before' pictures that I had taken years ago in the hope they would inspire me to get in shape. They were from 2013, and after posting them I quickly fell off the wagon and never got in shape. Then last year something clicked and I finally went for it. After seeing my old 'before' pictures this morning (and getting quite a shock) I grabbed my husband before he headed out to work and got him to snap my new progress pictures:

In my before picture I was about 155-160 lbs, 5'5" high and 30 years old. I remained about 160lbs for a long time, until I got my ass in gear at the grand old age of 34. This sub was my main inspiration and source of information, seriously you people are amazing. I lost 40lbs through CICO alone, eating around 1300-1400 calories a day. I didn't have any macro goals or dietary requirements, I just ate whatever I liked as long as I stayed within my calorie limit. When I got to 120lbs I was happy with the number on the scale, but still felt skinny fat. So 2 months ago I joined the gym and changed my goals from weight loss to recomp. I now workout 5 days a week with a combination of weight lifting, body weight exercises and cardio classes. On top of this I walk a fair bit with my dogs and through my hobby of geocaching. My calories are now at maintenance, which is about 1900-2000 a day due to my increased exercise, and I'm making real progress at the gym (I can do pull ups now!). I do pay more attention to my macros now, especially protein, and think of food as amazing fuel for my ongoing progress rather than a salve for my bad feelings. An added bonus of getting in shape is that my general anxiety is almost gone, I used to wake up every day with a racing heart and worry sickness... but now I can't remember the last time I felt that way. At 35 I feel younger, healthier, fitter, more confident and happier than I did then I was 30, and I'm excited to continue my progress and to work hard to achieve even more this next year. I'm also starting to think of crazy new goals, like competing in a Tough Mudder race maybe!
edit - got my age wrong! It's first thing in the morning and I thought I was 22 in 2013, dumb.
