Update Time!!! I Can Finally Use My Scale Again!!!
Hey All,
So about a month ago, I posted a LONG blurb about the start of my weight loss journey. You can find it here:
My First Post, The Start Of My Journey, Never 500, and Thank you to r/loseit
Anyways, some of you had asked me to keep updating. And I decided I will. Though, mine will be a more month to month update. And it's been a little over a month since I posted last! When I last left off, my current weight was 465 lbs. I was happy to be back on the weight loss journey, but I knew I had a long way to go. I had been setting many little goals for myself as well as large ones, and today, I hit quite a few of them as well as my first large goal! My CW, as per my flair, is 441 lbs! I hit my goal of 20 lbs lost, Being able to use my own personal scale again (instead of going to the grocery store and using their Higi station), and 30 lbs. lost (which was the goal I set before I would finally reveal my weight loss journey with my friends and family). The surprising thing was that if I hadn't taken a risk this morning, those last two wouldn't have been obtained!
So, as I stated in my last post, due to my size, I wasn't able to use my own scale, with a weight limit of 450 lbs. So I had to improvise and use this computer like thing at my local grocer, that has you sit on a bench and place your feet on this bar, and it weighs you. Now the downside to this is that 1). You are fully clothed, which does add on additional weight and 2). You aren't weighing yourself first thing in the morning, so therefore, your body can be doing weird things with your weight. As of last Sunday, I was 457 lbs. But, when I got up today and did my normal morning business, I was looking at the scale in my bathroom and thought, "Hey, wonder if maybe I might be under 450 lbs finally without clothes on. Might as well give it a shot!" Well, I pulled it out, stepped on it, and peaked down and it wasn't saying ---- there were actual numbers on it. Of course I was skeptical, so I stepped off and did it again. And again. And again. And each time, it showed numbers. So I ran out of the bathroom and told my wife excitedly to come here. Of course, after finishing my morning business she wasn't too thrilled about entering the bathroom, lol. But she's a trooper and joined me anyways. I stood on the scale, with my back straight and she looked down and squealed with glee. She was super happy that the scale was working for me again. Sadly, the scale wouldn't come to a 100% firm response on my weight. It kept fluctuating between 438 and 441. I decided to take the high number, that way, if I am less, then when I weigh myself next Sunday, it will show (rather than take the low number, weigh myself and see the same number and have that disappointing feeling).
Anyways, I typed up another marathon of a post on my Facebook page this morning telling my friends and family (after I texted my immediate family), and it's been nothing but amazing responses so far! I am so excited right now. I feel as light as a feather.... Ok not really, but you get the point. So, my next goals are approaching. Reach my original weight when I started my first major weight loss journey (434 lbs), lose 50 lbs, wear a bunch of my shirts that stopped fitting me due to my weight gain (and wear some of the new clothes given to me that I wasn't small enough to wear yet), reach my lowest weight from my weight loss journey (417 lbs.), and major goal, get below 400 lbs. As I said before, I'll keep you guys updated monthly! Thank you for all the love and support! Now, I need to go get ready for a 3 hour special event for Pokemon Go later today! If you have any questions or concerns, PM me or drop a line here! Thanks all!
