Dad's Girlfriend Discouraging Me About Reaching My Goal Weight but Is She Right?

So my dad's girlfriend is in her 50s and has officially begun menopause. She teaches Pilates and is of a healthy weight, but she constantly complains about how old and fat she is (she isn't). This October I started dieting and I've lost three pounds so far. I talk about how I want to get back to how I used to look, but she chimes in that I'm older now, and my body changes and I'm not going to look the same. While that may apply to someone who is going through menopause, I'M TWENTY-EIGHT-YEARS-OLD NOT FIFTY-SOMETHING! Whenever she says this I feel like she's discouraging me and making me feel my calorie counting is futile, or that she is projecting her own insecurities on me. Is she right in this? Will my body just keep getting fattier no matter what I do? Will I never be my goal weight ever?

My mom was a dietician when she was alive so I don't really have anyone to ask.
