New scales, different weights. Help!!
Hey so I’m a long time lurker on loseit and I’m a serial dieter. My weight has yoyoed between 150 and 200lbs for the past 10+ years. Currently am trying to lose weight slowly and sustainably with the added goal of maintenance to try and kick this unhealthy cycle.
ANYWAY so for the past few weeks I’ve been around the same weight (181-183lbs) because I’ve been focusing on work, seeing friends etc, rather than CICO. I felt that the time had come though to get back into losing and thought a new fancy set of scales would be a good mental kickstart.
I bought a set of Eufy scales and tried them for the first time this morning. To my surprise they show a full 7lb difference from my old scale at 175.7lbs.
I was expecting a difference between the scales but half a stone seems crazy. If it had been less I’d take the win and get on with my day but this just feels like significant artificial loss. I weighed myself on my old scales again and sure enough they think I’m 182.1lbs.
What should I do? I’ve been tracking my weight for so long but it feels disingenuous to enter a fake 7lb loss. Anyone else experience this?
