NSV- I fit into my wedding dress!
When I went wedding dress shopping 3 months ago, I found a dress I immediately fell in love with. The only problem was that I was too big for it. Even the largest size they had wouldn't zip in the back by about 2-3 inches. I felt embarrassed and ashamed of my body, and what should have been a fun, happy day dress shopping with some of the people closest to me just turned into another reason to be angry with myself about my weight.
I bought the dress anyway and decided enough was enough. I started counting calories and getting serious about taking care of my body, not only so that I could fit into the dress, but also so that I didn't have to miss out on anymore experiences like that one ever again. I've lost 20 pounds since then. Even though I've been watching the number on the scale decrease, I haven't felt like my body has changed all that much and I've been feeling pretty discouraged.
Fast forward to my first dress fitting at the tailor today. I've been putting it off for so long because I've been dreading the embarrassment of the dress not fitting. Well...
IT FIT!!!
She zipped it up no problem! I don't have to get that part altered at all now, unless I lose a few more inches around my waist before my wedding day, which would be awesome. Maybe it's silly because 2 inches really isn't that much and I definitely still have another 50ish pounds to lose before I get to my goal, but damn do I feel accomplished. I never thought I would be able to do this, but I've been putting in the hard work every day, and apparently it's paying off!
Honestly, I just felt like bragging because I've never been so proud of anything before. But in case anybody is wondering, I (F/24/5'4") started at 190 pounds in January and I've been doing CICO at 1200cal/day and walking around the neighborhood for an hour every day.
Tl;Dr- didn't fit into my dream wedding dress even though it was the largest size carried, started taking better care of my body, and now I do!
