Week 3 of c25k: is it normal for my knees to be hurting?

I'm 220lbs of basically all fat. I've been focusing mostly on diet and throwing in some fairly light bodyweight exercise (about 25 min on average) for pretty much the past 2 months, but starting the c25k program, I'm starting to get some serious soreness.

I've felt it during week 2, but it was more discomfort than anything, I could easily push through. But tonight I'm in a state where I'm having trouble simply taking off my shoes to go to bed. I want to be clear that it feels more sore than painful, but I figured I should get some info before I push through the pain, or end up taking a break. (The program is wonderful btw, during the run itself I have no pain, and I'm excited to keep pushing in the moment)
