NSV at the japanese all you can eat!!
So yeah! I met with some good friends I hadn't seen in a while and they proposed we went to this sushi all you can eat. I accepted since they seemed to really want to go to this place, and I agreed pretty quickly, figuring out that to avoid overeating at an All you can eat, but still feel like you didn't waste your money, you just need to eat enough so that the original price of the dishes matches the discounted price of the unlimited meal. So basically, at a japanese restaurant, about 5 dishes were more than enough.
I opted mainly for a couple of dishes of sashimis and shrimp, plus a seaweed salad, steamed egg (never again) and some spring rolls-no rice was consumed. Also I had ordered some salmon, but since it was taking forever to arrive and we kinda wanted to leave I just asked them not to bring it.
I kinda lucked out cause I'm not actually a sushi fan unless there's something fried in there, and even then I don't want an entire roll of the same thing, so making low cal decisions was easier. But still, I remember how much of everything I'd eat at this kinds of occasions in the past, even if I didn't love the plate. This is a huge change to me.
And the biggest victory is in the fact that today, even having had breakfast (sometimes I skip it if I'm having bigger meals later on), having had lunch at a poke place (with another friend, and rice was happily consumed there), and then having had a drink and some snacks at a happy hour later, I STILL managed to finish the day right ON the maintenance line! 1900 kcal /1960!!
I'm really proud of myself, I never would have imagined myself doing something like this only a year ago. It does get easier folks, it really does.
Tomorrow night I'm eating out again (already planned the rest of the meals, working on staying under maintenance again!). This kind of things make me a bit nervous but also excited, feels like a challenge, and lately I've been nailing those!
