To the couple at the wedding: I am a person.
Today I went to a wedding. My wife and I have been working hard together to lose weight and between us we've lost another human (Over 110lbs) My wife looks amazing and she's been so excited that she is starting to fit into her clothes.
She had planned her outfit out for a few days at least and me... well, I just assumed I'd wear my normal 'fancy' clothes, it was only just before the wedding that I realized I have lost so much weight that my clothes look ridiculous on me...
I did what I could with a shirt/tie and suspenders to keep my pants up, unfortunately my pants were so large they would just ride all the way up (50lbs is a lot of weight). Whatever, it's not about me right, it's someone's wedding so I'll just do whatever I can and deal with it.
We go to the wedding and I'm sitting without my wife as she visits the bride and a young couple walk up to me and begin framing a picture with their cell phone. At first I greeted them with a friendly smile before I realized they were taking a picture of me...
They didn't even acknowledge me. I suddenly instantly felt what it was like to be an animal in a zoo. I was their entertainment and I wasn't even remotely a human being. After taking a picture and making comments between themselves I sat dumbfounded.
I sat waiting for my wife to come back so we could leave and tried to reconcile with my battered ego.
We left the wedding before the service and I've been sitting at home trying to cope with what happened. All I can resolve to do is to be better and I will.
The only thing I can do to beat someone so vile and shitty as you are is work harder and focus myself. Every time I am tempted to give up and stop fighting I will remember this day and I will have a proper wardrobe when I hit my goal weight and I am a god damn person and you can go fuck yourselves.
