Staying hopeful

About five years ago I lost 40 lbs and was the fittest I've ever been. But then last year I went through a brutal car accident, losing some motor/cognitive function and just becoming so, so weak. Since last May I've managed to gain 35 lbs. Now I know I can get rid of it, because I did it before, but I am struggling. Counting calories leaves me feeling unsatisfied and like I'm not in control, meal prepping salads leads to a bunch of food waste because I never eat as much as I make. I work out daily (which is pretty awesome when I couldn't walk unassisted a year ago). I've cut carbs and am getting into fasting. I know I'm gonna come out better than ever, but it's been six weeks and the scale hasn't moved, my clothes (still) don't fit, and I can't run a 5k... But I'll get there. And if you're trying to get there too, I'm rooting for you.

Short term goal: finish 5k, mid term goal: do a pull up, long term goal: fit into pre-quarantine pants
