Fighting against deadline mentality
This is a request for strategies to fight the deadline mentality.
Stay-at-home has been an ideal time for me to lose weight. I have my food scale with me all the time. I’m never rushing out the door. I don’t ever need to eat out because my food is with me all the time. I eat when I’m hungry, and we’ve been having food delivered so there are a lot less grocery store mind games with myself. (Seeing the sugar=wanting the sugar. Cue mind games)
One of my greatest joys is knowing that I’m doing this to be healthier for all time, and I didn’t start it with a deadline in mind because there were no upcoming vacations/weddings/etc.
Until this week, when my family planned a get together for a month from now, and my brain automatically shifted to “Well we wanna look good for them, don’t we? Full speed ahead!”
I don’t want a deadline, I want a weightline, slow and steady as she goes, with no mind to the time it takes. Any advice for fighting the need for speed?
