14 year old male looking to lose some weight
So you guys probably get a lot of teens asking this question on this sub, but I'm a bit lost here, and I'm also getting some mixed answers. Basically, I'm 14 M, 5'8'', and around 146 lbs. My BMI's 22, which is strangely close to the middle of normal weight. So I'm not at risk of health problems, but I've just always had some chub around my body, especially my chest, love handles, and legs, particularly my thighs. I currently workout (admittedly usually with an extra day of rest lmao) everyday except fridays, alternating between using weight machine and doing a spin bike cardio with some weights from a video (vid)
One thing I was wondering was, is CICO healthy and a good option for me? I've heard a lot that it's a bad option for a growing teen, and that monitoring nutrients rather than cutting calories is a much better option, and this seems to be the most true, especially since I'm already not technically overweight. And if not, actually even if CICO is good for me, what is a good mix of macronutrients and just food types in general?
tldr: 14 yr old M, 5'8'', and around 146 lbs, 22 BMI, so technically healthy weight, but have chub around my body I'd like to lose in a healthy way.
