Having a tough time tracking calories.
As the title suggests, I’m kind of stumped on how to start my CICO journey. I’m 29, male 210lb 5’8” and moderately active (I surf and workout 4-5 times a week). I bought an Apple Watch to track roughly how many calories I burn and I downloaded the lose it app to take track of calories in. My TDEE is 2976, I believe. I also took my BMR which is 1920. I’m looking to lean out and lose some fat. Not extremely concerned with specific weight but I think that if I lost 10-15 pounds and maintained my muscle, I could be in the best shape of my life. So that’s a goal. Anyway, if you take today for instance, my watch says I burned 1499 calories while surfing for 3 hours and I’ve eaten 942 calories so far, putting me at a calorie deficit of 557. Should I aim to reach my TDEE, should I aim below it? I cant quite figure out where to start. If anyone could help me out, I’d greatly appreciate it.
