Is it normal to not identify with fitness brands?

I’ve been struggling with being overweight for years, I’m currently 260lbs. I don’t know if it’s just me. But I constantly feel like sports and fitness brands, such as Nike and Adidas do basically nothing to cater to people like us. I see their ad campaigns pushing for body acceptance and featuring plus sized models but it all just feels forced.

I feel like deep down their true ideal customer are “attractive” people who are already good at sports. The other day I read about a CEO of a sports brand that said that he only wanted people that know what they’re doing at the gym to wear their brand.

I’m sorry for the rant. But it’s just kinda disheartening to see beautiful models and I still feel like I’m stuck at zero. Like… I don’t have the perfect genes to be a perfect athlete. Are there any brands that I could actually identify with?
