My mom saved my life yesterday
I (33m, 435lb) made it my goal to walk from my house to my brothers flooring business across town to help with moving some warehouse stuff, something like a 2 hour walk. It’s the most Ive done in a while but not unprecedented for me.
We are living with my parents right now while I’m developing an app, so I e been holed up our room a lot. Anyway I sent my mom a picture of a sign about an hour and a half in and said “taking a walk! :)” and she immediately called concerned about my mental health. I reassured her I was okay and feeling fine other than mild soreness. She sounded relieved and said okay and we hung up.
About 30 seconds later she calls back and says she’s dispatched my dad to rescue my body. Wtf mom!? Now he’s left work early to find me along and I feel bad turning him back. I’m still upset I wasn’t able to finish my walk, as I was close to done!
People will hold you to their standards and limits by default. We can’t let them. Stay strong my friends.
