Do I need to starve to loose those last few pounds?

Hi.

I have about 5 pounds to go before I reach my target weight. I got to my target weight a few years back, but during the last year or so I've gained those 5 pounds I'm now looking to loose.

I'm on a whole food plant based diet (well, almost vegan, but some dinners contain a moderate amount of cheese), but don't seem to be loosing those last few pounds. So I thought I'd reach out to the community to get some advice. Like, is it more or less a requirement that I starve myself (like intermittent fasting) at this point?

Just to mention it, a typical day I eat rolled oats w/water for breakfast, a salad of some kind for lunch, a whole food plant based dinner with minimal processed items, and for evening I may eat rolled oats (again), some fruit (such as apples). I hate to go hungry, so when I get hungry between meals I eat some fruit or maybe a 50% fiber crispbread without any spread.

If I don't eat enough before I go to bed, I wake up in the middle of the night really hungry and lay awake and more or less ruin my night, so I always make sure to eat enough in before bed. But I try hard to eat just enough not to get hungry in the middle of the night. My concern have been that this evening meal may be the reason why I'm not loosing weight, but if I must choose between sleep and fat I choose sleep. So hopefully I can find a way to loose weight without sacrificing sleep.

Anyways, this was a bit longer post than planned, so I apologize for that.
