Finally actually making progress
Lil self appreciation/future self motivation just in case i need it, feel free to skip
I’ve always been pretty big and unhealthy. My “diet” at the worst was not quite at My 600lb life levels, but close enough that I finally had to change.
I was complacent and believed all of my previous efforts were wasted time, so why keep trying? 250? Nbd. 270? Eh, as long as I’m not diabetic. 295? Ok maybe I should slow down on the chips. But once I hit 305 and was outgrowing shirts I’ve worn for almost a decade I knew it was too much.
I started eating less and an experience I had changed how I view food fundamentally. Food is no longer an addiction to me, just the fuel it’s supposed to be. Sure I still enjoy tasty meals but I don’t put a literal mountain of food on my plate. Your stomach rumbling and the “hungry” feeling you get are not signs of how much to eat, but how soon you need to eat. When your car tells you the gas is low that doesn’t mean you have to spend $100 and over fill the tank that instant. $20 for enough to get you to payday is fine.
if anyone is actually reading and cares the above revelation is what I would deem the biggest contributing factor to my progress
Now I’m down from 305 to 258 with no plans on stopping. In under 2 months I’m nearing 50lbs lost and be never been happier. I’m fitting into shirts and pants that I nearly threw out/gave away because I never thought id wear them again.
I don’t have a goal weight as of now because I just want to see how far I can go. As long as I keep eating less/healthier and exercising like I have been I’ll be happy. Plus the numbers themselves are just a way to help me visualize my progress but I know muscle a more dense than fat so if I’m putting on a enough muscle I’ll outrun the fat loss and gain weight.
Tl;dr: I’m proud of myself, finally getting results
