I want to stick to a healthier lifestyle

But in the past I failed and failed and failed! I have a big problem with candy, basically to much sugar and I'm getting more and more concerned about my health. I'm 5'3'' and I weight around 200 lbs.

Recently I must have gained few pounds, because I have a harder time closing my pants lol, which made me determined to do a diet again. I'm in no way a negative person, but how can I stay motivated knowing I failed in the past? To be fair, one would be I managed to quit smoking. So I thought maybe I got more disciplined by it.

I thought about minimizing candy like 1 piece of chocolate in a week or what would you guys say? Definetly eating more vegetables and all that for one.

Tell me what helps you to stay motivated and how to successfully cut out sugar for most part.
