staying on track with a physically exhausting job

hi everyone! I’m committed to losing some weight this year but I have a job where sometimes I’m at a desk all day and sometimes I’m out in the field digging holes. Work is either very low or very high physical activity and I’m having trouble balancing exercise and food with it.

When I’m in the office I’m really on track, I eat well and exercise after work with plenty of time to still unwind. When I’m in the field I’m usually exhausted and want to lie on the floor for an hour! The last thing I want to do is work out or count my calories. I find that I “treat” myself more bc I’ve worked hard and bc I’m driving longer distances I want to snack during that too. It’s like the physical activity has just worn out my self control.

My schedule changes constantly too, there’s no predicting when and for how long I’ll be in which role.

I guess I’m after some advice for keeping my self control when I’m so wrecked?
