The Protein is driving me CRAZY
Hey everyone!
Background: I'm F20, 5'5, normal weight 145-147, CW: 153 (january was not a good month haha).
I started weightlifting three months ago, and I absolutely love it. But I'm beginning to get real burnt out and annoyed with the stupid fricking protein. It's a fight every. single. day.
I've been counting calories since 2019, and I love CICO for the freedom it gives (gave) me. I could eat whatever I want, whatever my friends ate, I could order pizza, I could have cereal for breakfast, I could snack some chips in front of the tv. When I was losing weight (50 lbs) I ate a donut almost every day and it was working so amazingly.
And now that I need to look after my protein, it's been ruined. My ideal intake would be somewhere between 130-150, right now I can manage 100 g a day, and that's a huge struggle already.
The one great thing about CICO does not work anymore. Popping into the bakery for a chocolate crossiant? Fits my calories perfectly, but not worth it, not enough protein. Sharing a bowl of chips with my boyfriend while watching trashy tv? Would be great, fits my calories, but sorry, not enough protein. A donut when I go to the store after my workout? Totally reasonable caloriewise, but not enough protein . Going oit to eat is a nightmare now, because I need to estimate calories AND protein, and come to the conclusion that it's fine with the calories, but protein? Where's the protein?
When I think about what to cook, I don't think about what I want anymore, I think about what has the most protein, and that gets just miserable with time.
And the worst thing is, even with all that shit, I'm not even anywhere near my ideal intake.
It's driving me crazy, but I don't want my workouts to go to waste. I just don't know what to do.
Edit: I eat 2000-2100 cals a day.
