Building muscle as a woman
So my weight loss journey is going well! I eat at a deficit of 500-800 calories during the week, and if I have a day out with friends, I don't worry about what I eat. I go to the gym 3 times a week, and I'm working on building my endurance with running, and I got a trainer for strength training.
So question: I'm definitely getting stronger. But if women don't gain muscle weight very fast (especially during times of overall weight loss), is my strength training contributing to my weight loss? Or is it technically a side project?
I'd love my BMR to go up with more muscle mass, but I see that women can maybe gain like 5lbs of muscle in a year. If I'm getting stronger, is that doing anything to my BMR?
