I got down to a healthy bmi!

In total I've lost 15 lbs. All my attempts in the past have failed miserably so this is a big success for me!! Calorie counting made me nervous and obsessive and I'd overeat late at night. In the past I've had success with the potato diet but it was unsustainable long term.

Now I've been walking 1 hour a day, very rarely have takeout, I am aware of and careful with my calories but I don't tot them up daily. I eat whole foods mainly - potatoes, lots of veg, rice, beans etc, some bread, the odd protein bar, some meat substitutes and a lot of soy milk for my tea. I limit oil and other calorie dense foods.

Not knowing exactly where I'm at calorie wise daily was hard, but it's been paying off on the scale and that's great to see. If you're scared to stop calorie counting, but it's not working for you, it is also possible to lose weight by focusing on calorie density, having lots of fibre and protein.
