Is it true that diet affects your weight loss goals more than exercise?
Hi everyone M 24 5'8.
Starting Weight/Highest Weight: 238 lbs
Current Weight: maybe still 208,
Goal Weight: 170 lbs
So I've been hearing diet consists of 75% of your weight loss and that 25% is exercise. Is this true? You see I've been heavily exercising lately for two weeks straight somewhat moderated my intake but sometimes went off when it comes to eating sugary stuff like eating a s'more or two lol or a few more scoops of rice lmao I'm Asian. I haven't weighed myself in that time frame because I'm scared what the scale says will tell me that exercise didn't help but at the same time I had a crap diet. So I'm wondering if I should just check the scale and if my exercise doesn't show results I should change my diet?
Also, my weight fluctuates really weirdly. My highest weight was in November 2021 at 238 lbs and in May I went to see a doctor and weighed 208 lbs but two weeks before that appointment I was 197 lbs. I'm afraid to check it because I feel as if I've reached a plateau and I don't know how to start when it comes to a good diet. I'd like to make a meal that has little few ingredients as possible but I don't know recipes out there except if I were to just make one up. I'm looking to just do salmon and broccoli type of guy for meals. Would this be beneficial? Lastly do you guy's have any simple ingredient meals that work for you and any that you recommend? If so what are they? Any comment or info helps.
