Tips for calorie counting without calorie counting?

Hi all,

I was wondering if anyone has any tips on how to cut down/calorie count without actually counting?

I know this seems counter productive. But I've found when I calorie count, I can stick with it and see results for a while. But then I get sick, or go on holiday, or something happens and I lose my streak. And with losing my streak comes losing all willpower and drive to return, and I normally end up putting it all back on. And this isn't even short term counting either - my highest streak was 2 years and about 50lb down, all of which is now back and it's harder than ever to get back on the horse.

Intermittent fasting doesn't work for me as I suffer with migraines and I found it triggered them. I eat good food, just struggle with portions and snacking. So any tips that worked for you please let me know!
