A warning… (about Weight Watchers)
I cancelled my account back in May, when I realized how much Weight Watchers vilified fats a bit too much for my tastes. (Using LoseIt now exclusively and I feel like I have more control.)
When you cancel… apparently they give you a choice to file a cancellation fee for an absurd $39.99… or continue until the end of your plan that you signed up for (2 months free, 4 months paid… 6 months total).
I never saw that option to choose what I would pay to cancel (I obviously would have taken the fee, as it would have been less than paying for an additional three months of non-use)… and simply went on chat asking why I kept getting charged… and they said the above, that I chose to finish paying for my plan instead of paying a cancellation fee (My first issue with them… it’s not clear you have that choice.)
They also gave me the option to pay the cancellation fee NOW, but decided to not tell me I had only one more billing cycle to pay of $22.88. (Which I only discovered later in the conversation).
I lost it on the guy, that they knew they would have gotten another $20 out of me if I went ahead with the cancellation fee and not inform me that I would have been charged just one more time.
I was told I was being abusive (I called the guy “not decent”). I laughed about it because anyone with a conscious would know I was speaking the truth… and to take being told you aren’t decent as abuse… then you are simply trying to cover your ass.
Just wanted to share the crappy customer experience I had with them… never again…
