All the knowledge, poor commitment. M(26)
M(26) 198lbs Day One. Long time lurker first time poster!
I have slowly been gaining weight for the last 6 years, I was 65kg and now I’m 90kg which is shocking for me now I’ve taken stock of the situation rather than just ignoring the issue.
The saddest thing is I’m a medic, and gained most of the weight at medical school, so with that I suppose came some arrogance of thinking “well I know the science really well, I know exactly what to do”. It’s taken a lot of self reflection to acknowledge that being well informed doesn’t directly translate to being well motivated.
I would like to drop 20kg, I’m going away on a big ski trip with loads of friends, and the on last one my weight really ruined the trip, super sore and achy knees and feet, which makes me upset that I am no longer able to enjoy one of my favourite things.
Today marks 5 months till that trip so I guess it’s time for some realistic goals and some good ol’ fashion grit and determination. Any tips and tricks on motivation would be greatly appreciated
