Losing weight without physical activity- or starving myself. Tips?

Hi!
So, I live in the southern hemisphere and usually this is the time I start going to the gym and being phyisically active to shed the weight I gain during winter.

However, I developed Costochondritis due to Covid19- this means the cartiledge of my ribs is damaged and I often get acute chest pain, leaving me bedridden a lot of the time. I can't do a lot of activities that would require upper body strength-or even make my breathing laboured.

I haven't found any painkillers so far that are effective, and Dr. only recommended bedrest until it goes away.

So, this leaves me with 1 option- losing weight through a diet. I've cut out most carbs and sugars, been practicing intermittent fasting- and while I've steadily lost weight, the progress is extremely slow.

Any tips? More fruit? More snacks instead of intermittent fasting? More water? I'm open to suggetions. It's just a lot harder to lose weight when I'm bedridden half the time- and frankly, I feel myself getting physically weaker.

Any tips? Thank you.
