SL 5x5 whilst on a cut?

I’m a 15 year old overweight teenager who has no experience at the gym and wants to start lifting. I’m thinking of starting the StrongLifts 5x5 program as it is said to be good for novices like me. I’m 81 kg which is overweight for my age so I believe I’ll need to lose weight too in the form of a caloric deficit. My question is, can I still do this program whilst in a calorie deficit or will this limit my ability to build muscle whilst also losing fat? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
