The difference only ~10 pounds can make!
I was feeling pretty bummed earlier today and decided to look at Facebook to see how much weight I've gained over the past 6 years. However, while looking through photos, I discovered just how much of a difference even a little weight loss can make.
I just finished my freshman year of college. I wore the same dress to my sorority formal that I wore to my senior prom. I don't know exactly how much I weighed at senior prom, but my highest weight was 221, so I'd guess somewhere around 220. Looking at the photos I noticed just how tight the dress was when I wore it to prom. The waistband was suffocating, I was afraid the zipper would pop open every time I took a breath, and I remember both my parents having to come zip it up because the dress was so tight. Not a very good feeling to have on the day of senior prom.
Now that I've been in college, I've significantly changed my lifestyle. I went from being extremely sedentary, sometimes not even walking 1,000 steps a day, to preferring walking somewhere over driving (if possible) and walking at least 10k steps a day, at least during the school year. I've been more mindful of what I eat, and have recently been doing standard CICO with a daily goal of 1500 calories or less. Since senior prom I've lost roughly 10 pounds, and it's actually made a huge difference!
At my sorority formal I was able to put on the same dress I had to have 2 people help me put on the year earlier, this time with zero help! I was able to put it on backwards, fasten the zipper, and twist it back around effortlessly, and there was even an inch or so of wiggle room! I didn't have to worry about the zipper popping open and enjoyed the night ten times more than I was able to at prom.
