Through some ups and downs, I’ve lost 82 pounds since March 2016!
Hi, first post here. I started my weight loss journey in March of 2016, when I weighed in at 276.6 pounds and being 6’1”. I had been trying to lose weight on and off for years, but it never quite stuck. Well, I decided to give it another shot and really stuck with it. I only ate about 1400 calories a day, and being a picky eater (I’ve expanded my horizons quite a bit since then) used meal replacement shakes for two of my meals a day. I also ran/jogged 4 times a week. My initial goal weight was 215 pounds, and I reached it by October the same year. I stayed pretty stagnant and had reached a plateau for a while, mainly because it was hard to manage college, work, social life, and still fit in exercise and a proper diet. Well to try and get over that hump, I switched up my exercise routine and incorporated weight lifting and managed to trickle down to 207 pounds. After that, things took a turn for the worse. For various reasons (family issues, depression, etc.) I ended up not exercising or really dieting for a while and climbed back up to 235 pounds. Seeing that kinda crushed my spirit, but it also motivated me to get back into things. Since then, I’ve started a Keto diet and got back into running 4 times a week, and as of 2 days ago I weigh 194.6 pounds! A total of 82 pounds since I first started. I crushed my original goal of 215, made a new goal (200) and crushed that one as well. I’ve gone from a size 40 pants to now wearing a 34, and those are even getting kind of loose now. I’ve also been hypertensive since middle school, and at my last check-up, my doctor reduced the dosage of my medications! I’m closer to living a medication free, healthy life. Thanks in advance for anyone who takes the time to read all of this haha.
