How to deal with being an obese college student.
Hey guys.
A bit of an unorthodox question, I know, but I figure some people here might have some experience with this situation.
So, I'm a guy who is 6'1'', 350 lbs at the moment. I had already lost 70 pounds at the start of this year, but I gained most of it back due to stress and new anti-depressants. I'm in the process of shedding it again, finally, and while it's going fast, it really isn't going fast enough. I start college in a month, as an adult student, which means that I'll almost definitely still be obese.
The problem that kind of compounds all of this though is that I have some pretty severe anxiety disorder type issues that are specifically linked to my weight, and I don't really know how to deal with it. It's gotten to the point where I'm already catastrophizing everything and thinking about postponing this whole thing for another year.
So, my question to you is, if you were obese in college, what were your experiences? Any tips for getting through the first 3 months in terms of dealing with being obese at college?
Thanks in advance.
