NSV - I got my first "Are you done losing yet?" yesterday!
I've been at a bit of a planned stand still for a couple of months. I got fired from my job, and decided I needed some time to take care of my mental state, and in turn decided that maintenance was okay until I was ready to start losing again. I've managed to keep my weight from changing too much (I did actually lose a little), even though I haven't counted calories or weighed my food. I¨made up some ground rules: Veggies with every meal, and start with a smaller portion than you think you need. Basically, intuitive eating, where I ask myself whether I am actually hungry.
Yesterday I went to a birthday party, at the local chinese buffet restaurant, and as per usual when in a buffet I started with a bowl of salad so I wouldn't overeat on the fried stuff and the noodles. At the restaurant I met a friend of my in-laws who haven't seen me since I lost my first 5 kilos, and haven't seen me this slim ever. I met her while being my heaviest.
She started with the whole "Oh my God, you look so great! Good work!", and then it came: "But you're done losing now, right? You don't need to lose anymore?".
FYI, I'm 6 kilos away from a BMI of 24,9, which is my first GW. I remembered what I had read in here, and I replied with "Only 6 more kilos to go!", gave her a smile and she didn't say any more.
This person is a known drama-queen. She REALLY likes to gossip, and she'll talk about you behind your back. An example is how a story of how my SO and I met while slightly drunk, and me offering him a cigarette turned in to her calling my MIL and telling her we had smoked weed together.
I'm fully prepared for her telling anyone who wants to hear it how I am now into dangerously thin-country and how she is worried I might have an ED. And all I can do is laugh about it.
Thank you to this whole sub for preparing me for these situations. I'm sure it will not be my first encounter like this :)
