Down 22 Pounds in 3 months! Losing the right way this time...

SW: 341 CW: 319 GW: 160

I (26, 5'8" F) have been dieting since high school. There was one point in senior year where I lost 70 pounds in three months by taking diet pills and restricting my daily caloric intake to 800 cals. Basically just an extreme version of the South Beach diet. During those three months of eating chicken breasts, plain romaine hearts, and lemons, I was absolutely miserable but ultimately happy with the weight I had shed. Obviously I knew that kind of diet wasn't sustainable, but I was 17 and very dumb.

Of course I gained all that weight back and more when I entered college and when I graduated, I weighed more than I ever had in high school. It was super depressing to even think about, which caused me to avoid addressing the issue altogether.

I finally decided to get my shit together three months ago after recently moving to a new area. I followed my friend's advice and started CICO and logged everything I ate, keeping my intake at around 2000 cals, and meal planning every Sunday. Of course there are times when I have gone over, but holding myself accountable for exactly how much I've gone over has definitely put things in perspective for me.

I also started doing Zumba which has honestly been SUCH a game changer for me. I hated going to the gym because workouts alone were so boring, but now I actually have a group of gals that I get to see three times a week and work out with. And on top of that, it doesn't even feel like working out! I've discovered that I actually love to dance and am looking into taking some actual dance classes sometime this summer.

I still have a long road ahead of me, but I feel like I'm taking the right path this time. :) Just felt like sharing this accomplishment so far. Consistency is key!
