I still weigh less now than I did when I started.

Sometimes we all panic. We step on the scale, and find our hard work rewarded with disappointment. I had such an incident today. I weigh daily (don’t at me about ignoring the scale, that’s neither helpful nor convincing), but I only use my Wednesday weigh in as my benchmark. Today I found myself .6 pounds heavier than I was on Wednesday. It’s a bummer. But you know what? I’m still like 9 pounds lighter than I was at the beginning of the year. That’s really cool. I have sabotaged enough fitness regimes and lifestyle changes to know mindset/mindfulness is just as important as diet and exercise. So instead of calling it “quits” (because I would just start again in two days, but with thousands of additional calories consumed), I’m just going to keep at it. I can’t let a disappointment derail me again. I still weigh less now than I did when I started.
