A tasty and filling way to eat yogurt - tarator (soup)
Hey losers!
I would like to share with you this very simple recipe. It's very filling and it's also high in protein, so why not give it a try if you're struggling with incorporating yogurt in your diet?
Here are the main ingredients - plain yogurt (I'm Bulgarian and I can't bring myself to call it Greek yogurt), full fat or low fat, doesn't matter, cucumbers, salt, oil. Optional - garlic, dill, walnuts (careful with those calorie wise). So what you need to do is cut a cucumber (or 2, I use around 200 g) into small cubes, add salt and oil (I add 1/4 tbs olive oil but whatever fits your calorie goals). Then add yogurt, I find that 200 g at once is more than enough to fill me up. Then mix the yogurt well, until there are as few bumps as possible. Start adding water and mixing until the yogurt is liquid, again, to your liking. Then you can add more salt (I like it salty), some garlic, some people add black pepper, walnuts if you'd like. I prefer it with just the main ingredients but whatever you like. Also, some people grate the cucumbers instead of cutting them into cubes but that just ruins it for me.
As you can see, the recipe is very simple, quick and easy. Because of the high water content and the protein, it's very filling, it's also very fresh. Of course, not everyone will like it but it's worth a try.
