Unhealthy people constantly looking for an excuse to keep their bad habits is beyond toxic.

Always lurking first posting. I just need to vent. All over I’m constantly seeing arguments for being overweight. In my own family, for example, it’s like a right of passage (for the women) to blame their bodies on their pregnancies then the kids for gaining weight. Before I had my kids I was on their side and just accepted that as my Inevitable future. Every single blood relative I have is overweight. People have different medical issues and personal stories and I understand that. But, now that I am a year after my second and final pregnancy I am down two sizes from before I even had my first kid. I spend all day chasing them around and I recently gotten into better eating habits and daily yoga. I’ve worked hard and changed myself to be a better example for my kids but I’m surrounded by people (in person and on Facebook) who look at me like I have an eating disorder just because I’m not big like everyone else. Family reunions have turned into nothing but concerned looks and sideways glances.I feel shameful and Conceded for being proud of my body while everybody else is making jokes and posting articles that argue, “guys like the jiggle” and “happy relationships make you fat”. Legitimizing their life choices and keeping up on all of those bad habits that got them fat in the first place. I’m sorry but my husband doesn’t like my stomach to jiggle anymore than I want his to jiggle. That doesn’t make us assholes that makes us responsible for one another so we aren’t adopting unnecessary medical issues in the long run. It just sucks being on a level I never thought I would get to because of the standards I was raised on and I can’t even talk about how proud of myself I am.
