Was frustrated, but then did the math and I'm right on track!
9 weeks ago I decided to get serious and start tracking my calories (and my food). I set my goals at a lb a week, but I've had weeks where I met that and weeks where I haven't, although I am proud to say that my "worst" week I still had 1400 calorie deficit. I haven't really been exercising, but I have been conscious of my activity level now and have been adding in small ways to up it.
But stepping on the scale has been a different story. I've been up and down, never over my starting weight, but between my period and my IBS (definitely gain some during a flare up when I'm backed up) I was frustrated that the scale wasn't giving me a clear picture. Keep in mind I'm young in the lose it game so I can't visually reap the benefits of my hard work yet, plus my IBS leads me to not feel the most confident about myself.
Today I weighed myself and saw I was 7 lbs down. I then went back and did the math through what I had logged in MFP and it came back with drumroll 6.95 lbs! Right on the nose! See the proof in the pudding even if I can't visually see my loss yet is giving me a boost (as well as the 7 lbs lost!). At a lb a week I knew this would be a long process, and even longer now that I'm actually logging in at 0.75 lb/week.
In these first 2 months, it has been so much easier to track food than I thought. I'm excited for the journey ahead and to keep losing, an that I have a community that encourages each other through the ups and downs of our journeys. Hopefully in 7 months I will be nearing my goal and maybe even thinking of a new one!
