When does belly fat seem to fully go away?
First time poster with a question out of curiosity, especially for men who have lost a lot of weight: was there a particular weight range where you saw your belly fat (subcutaneous fat, I guess) basically go away? I'm not talking about getting abs--just the range where you didn't look visibly chubby. I've lost almost 45 lbs since January, and I'm feeling great, but I also think I look the same, just smaller--for instance, my love handles have shrunk, but they aren't gone; my stomach region is still pretty thick, etc. My clothes fit exponentially differently (I've lost two pants sizes and Large shirts are starting to get baggy), which is awesome.
A little context: I'm a 32 year old male, 5'9". I've been chubby to overweight my entire life, fluctuating between 200 and 250 (I haven't been under 230 since about 2012). I've yo-yo dieted since I was in high school and had a hardcore powerlifting stint in grad school, but I've never really been able to get the weight off and keep it off. I wear my weight pretty well (for reference, I just learned my dad has to wear a 38 waist pants when he weighs 215; I've been in a 36 up to 240, though they were tight). After I got married this past December, my wife and I saw our wedding photos and decided we really needed to get in shape, so that's what we did. We started right after Christmas as one does, got really serious, completely changed our eating habits and started doing more cardio/trying to lead a generally more active lifestyle. She's lost about 20 lbs and is happy (she didn't have much to lose, anyway). I started at 245 and hit 202 this morning but have been maintaining around 204-6 for around a month. I'm super pumped to see the 190s because I pretty much don't remember what they look like--heck, I was thrilled when I saw the 2-teens.
Anyway, I know this will likely vary from person to person, but I was just curious what other people's experiences have been like.
