Can’t figure out what’s causing cravings
I haven’t had any problems with binge eating in a few years now, and I assumed that at this point I had a healthy enough relationship with food that I could start trying to lose weight, since I’ve always been bordering overweight. I had been counting calories for around three months already, but I didn’t really care about staying within my goal at all (it was more about being aware of what I was eating). Now that I’ve decided to clean up my diet and cut down on how much I’m eating, I’m suddenly getting the urge to eat unhealthy foods in the middle of the night and snack all day. I haven’t told myself that anything is “off-limits” and I’m eating a little less than 1,500 calories a day, which my calorie tracker categorizes as “slow weight loss” for my BMI, so I don’t understand why my body is responding like I’m being super restrictive. I’m also making sure to eat protein-rich and nutrient-dense foods to fill me up but nothing seems to be working. Has anyone experienced something similar to this?
